Twitter today bought one of our competitors, Dabble DB.
I’ve been an admirer of Dabble DB since they were a hit at DEMO two years ago, and we’ve learned a lot from them and wish them congratulations!
Several Dabble DB customers asked us today how to migrate their database to InfoDome now that Dabble DB’s future is unclear*.
To migrate your DabbleDB database to InfoDome, export your data as .csv files and import into InfoDome. InfoDome also supports images, and hyperlinks to documents, as described in our online Help.
For technical support, please contact us at support@infodome.com
We welcome Dabble DB customers and hope that InfoDome can provide a good alternative.
Dave
* “[F]or now, we will continue to provide our software and technical support to current Dabble DB customers. However, we will be disabling new account signups immediately. In the event that we terminate the service, we will provide out customers at least 60 days advance notice.” http://www.dabbledb.com/

We have new pricing plans for new authors subscribing to InfoDome effective 6/4/2010. (If you registered for InfoDome before 6/4/2010, you can continue to enjoy the pricing advantages of pricing plans in effect then, which will appear in your My Account page.)
Subform columns can be sorted in data mode – just click on a column’s text label to sort a subform by that column/field. Click in the menu region to the right of the text label to sort a second column.
Sample Database 1 and Sample Database 2 are available as pre-built applications. These relational databases help you learn and experiment with InfoDome, and showoff our new subforms capability.
- Sample Database 1 includes 100 records of companies, contacts, reps and sales, and a variety of forms and reports that showcase many advanced features and techniques, including subforms. Sample Database 2 is the same as Sample Database 1 except that it includes 450 records.
- Sample Database 1 is automatically provided to all new registered Authors. If you delete it from your account you can get another copy via the Create from a Pre-built Application from the Open or Create Database dialog.
Bug Fixes
- Image sizing defaults are correctly applied.
- Export all tables from Internet Explorer is working again.

Wriiting on StartupMeme.com, Sardar Mohkim Khan took a look at InfoDome – and liked what he saw.
Khan initially admitted that “Managing a database is always a major issues for everyone and in my case, a task that has always given me nightmares.”
But after giving InfoDome a try, Khan concluded that “while I may still not be allured to maintain databases in any way, I might actually recommend this tool to anyone whom I need to compile a report or create a set of data for my use.”
Give InfoDome a try and see what’s makes it great!

Subforms are now available!
We’ve introduced your #1 request: subforms! What a great tool to manage data! A subform is a form within a form based on a related table – for example, a company form with a contacts subform showing contacts in each company.
Subforms are currently read-only, not embeddable (yet) – and you can have one subform per form.
See Help – Forms – Subforms soon for more information.
Subforms are easy to create
- Create two tables and a form for each table (for example, companies and contacts
- Create a relation between the tables based on the common field, e.g., company
- In design mode of the companies form, drag out the subform tool and select the contacts form. You’ll now have a contacts subform in the companies form!
Sample Database 1.1 available as a pre-built application
This relational database helps you learn and experiment with InfoDome. It includes 450 records of companies, contacts, reps and sales, and a variety of forms and reports that showcase many advanced features and techniques.
Sample Database 1.1 is automatically provided to all new registered Authors. If you delete it from your account you can get another copy via the Create from a Pre-built Application from the Open or Create Database dialog.

In today’s post to his Web Applications Alert blog on Network World, Mark Gibbs takes a good look at InfoDome in a pretty detailed review. His conclusion:
I really like what InfoDome is offering, the pricing is good, the features are very good, and the user experience is excellent – the service has the potential to address the needs of that considerable market of users who just want to get a data management task done with having to become database experts.
Give InfoDome a try! In addition to a free version for limited use, there are several paid versions that let you get started with a free trial.

Greetings and welcome.
The new version released today makes it easy to publish data from your InfoDome online database on your website in a Flash embedded form. Flash embedded forms are now read-only, so your site visitors can browse, search, sort and filter records without your having to worry about them entering or deleting data.
We had many requests for this feature and are happy to roll it out now. Please keep the feature requests coming!
Happy embedding!
Dave
